For a long time, my life was defined by fear, silence, and survival. I grew up in a small council house in Essex, where money was tight, confidence was scarce, and dreams felt too big to be real. My dad’s drinking and the constant stress about bills shaped how I saw the world. The messages I heard over and over again, money doesn’t grow on trees, be grateful for what you have, people like us don’t get rich, became the background noise of my life. I carried those words with me into adulthood, and they became my truth.
When I met the man I would later marry, I thought I was choosing love and stability, but I found myself repeating the patterns I had grown up with. He worked hard, but his drinking and jealousy created an atmosphere of control and fear. I was constantly walking on eggshells, trying to keep the peace, hoping that one day things would change. The tension became my normal, and my voice slowly faded away. Each day was spent trying to predict moods, avoid triggers, and pretend that everything was fine. I told myself that love meant staying, even when it hurt.
Then came the day that shattered the illusion. One drunken argument turned into pure chaos, and the man I loved stood in the kitchen holding a chainsaw, completely out of control. In that moment of terror, something inside me finally snapped. A voice inside said, no more. For the first time in my life, I listened. I packed a bag, took my children, and walked away with nothing but courage and hope. We found safety in a women’s refuge, a place that gave me protection, space to breathe, and the first glimpse of what freedom might feel like. It was there, surrounded by women rebuilding their lives, that I made a promise to myself, I would never let fear or circumstance control my life again.

The process of healing wasn’t quick or easy. It was messy, emotional, and full of uncertainty, but it was also the most powerful thing I ever did. I began therapy and coaching, learning how to release the beliefs that had kept me small for so long. I discovered that the past doesn’t define you unless you let it, and that every day you get to decide again who you want to be. Slowly, my confidence started to return. I began to understand that the same strength that got me out of fear could take me anywhere I wanted to go, and I found my voice for the first time that felt like forever.
That realisation changed everything. I started investing in myself, training as a Life Coach and NLP Practitioner with The Coaching Masters. I learned how to help others find their voice, build self-belief, and take control of their future. But as I began this new chapter, I faced a new challenge. I had all the knowledge, all the passion, but I didn’t have clients, and I didn’t know how to sell. The truth hit hard. If I couldn’t sell, I couldn’t serve.
So I made another bold decision. I decided to master sales. I joined programs, attended bootcamps, and invested money I didn’t really have, because I knew I needed to learn how to communicate my value. I studied under world-class mentors who showed me that selling isn’t manipulation, it’s service. It’s about listening, understanding, and guiding people towards what they truly need. I started applying everything I learned, and slowly, things began to change. Clients started saying yes. My confidence grew. The fear of rejection was replaced with excitement, and I realised that every conversation was an opportunity to help someone.
That was my transformation, and it was the missing piece that changed the entire direction of my life. I went from surviving to thriving, from silence to influence. Within two years, I had generated over two and a half million dollars in sales, won multiple awards, and earned a position as a Senior Strategy Coach with The Coaching Masters, helping others achieve extraordinary results. For the first time, I wasn’t just building a business, I was building a legacy.

Today, my life looks completely different. I coach older entrepreneurs who feel like they’ve been left behind by the digital age, helping them rebuild their confidence, find their authentic sales voice, and create consistent income without ever feeling pushy or fake. I show them how to replace fear with clarity, self-doubt with confidence, and limitation with freedom. Every time one of my clients makes their first sale, finds their courage, or finally believes in themselves, I see a reflection of my own journey, and it fills me with pride.
When I’m not coaching, I’m spending time with my wonderful family and my four beautiful grandchildren who remind me every single day why I do what I do. They are my absolute why, the reason I continue to grow, learn, and give back. They remind me that age is never a limit, it’s a superpower. It means wisdom, resilience, and strength that can’t be taught, only lived.
If you’re reading this and wondering whether it’s too late to start again, to build confidence, to learn sales, or to finally create the life you deserve, I’m living proof that it’s not. I’ve done the hard work the hard way so you don’t have to. I’ve turned fear into freedom, silence into strength, and doubt into purpose.
